Farm to Food Bank
Our Mobile Market
Farm to Food Bank
Beginning in 2022, the Goshen Market partnered with Feeding Illinois and St. Louis Area Foodbank to pilot the Farm to Foodbank program with the goals of feeding our communities with local produce, supporting our farmers with additional income, and limiting food waste.
This program pays our local farmers for their seconds, gleanings, and surplus produce and transports that food to the GlenEd Pantry and the Beet Box for distribution to individuals in Madison and St. Clair County.
Though the pilot phase and grant funding has ended, Goshen Market Foundation continues to operate Farm to Foodbank because this program is vital for our farmers, for our pantries and the Beet Box, and for the hundreds of people who receive fresh, local produce at no/low cost.
Through this program, and with the support of Goshen Market farmers, we have collected and donated approximately 38,000 lbs of fresh local produce to area food pantries.
For 2025, we have set the ambitious goal of collecting an additional 12,000 lbs, and expanding the program to another local Farmers Market!

Farm to Food Bank Impact
During the '23-'24 season, The Goshen Market Foundation partnered with Feeding IL and the St. Louis Area Foodbank to pilot the Farm to Foodbank program, delivering fresh local produce to local pantries.
